Donated pave stones help ongoing restoration of Hopeful Church

Butch Jones of Pavestone played Santa last week as he delivered over $1,000 in pave stones to the Hopeful Community Club. The group is steadily working toward rehabilitating the Hopeful Primitive Church building and cemetery. The church has extensive history going back 200 years, with a cemetery containing grave sites with the remains of veterans of the Revolutionary War and Civil War. The church itself has seen better days and still needs some fairly extensive repair, but the club has made a lot of progress in cleaning up the property. In the photo above, the Hopeful Community Club laid down the first pave stones along what will eventually be a new path.                                         (Photos by Dean Breest)
