Students complete Fayetteville Junior Police Academy

Fayetteville Police Department’s 13th annual Junior Police Academy graduated another crop of trainees Friday after a week of training in self-defense, police procedures and citizenship.

The program for rising seventh- through ninth-graders included competition amongst four teams, and by mid-morning Friday, the Blue and Green teams were tied at 1,875 points apiece. The tie-breaker was a recitation contest using the “Police Officer Positive Reinforcement Guidelines.”

Michael Cuneo tipped the scales for his Blue Team by reciting the guidelines word-for-word.
