Fayetteville Police investigators are asking for the public’s help in locating a Publix robbery suspect, who is said to have hit the Fayette Pavilion store around 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

According to Lt. Mike Whitlow, the suspect told the clerk at the customer service desk to hand over the $20 bills saying he had a gun. Whitlow said no gun was actually displayed during the incident, and there were no injuries.

The suspect reportedly told the clerk not to do anything until he left the building.

“We are currently reviewing surveillance video from Publix as well as surrounding businesses and are speaking with witnesses,” Whitlow said in a statement Monday morning.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact Fayetteville Police at 770-461-4441 or 770-461-HELP (4357).
