Lock your car doors.

Seriously, put the paper down (or your tablet, smartphone or whatever), and go lock your car doors.

That’s the message Tyrone Police, Peachtree City Police, and pretty much every law enforcement agency anywhere is trying to get across to the public, especially this close to Christmas: Lock your car doors.

While you’re at it, take your valuables out of the car, or at least hide them from plain sight.

On early Sunday morning, Peachtree City alone had  24 Entering Auto cases that would be reported throughout the day. Tyrone reported eight in that same time period.

One thing all 32 of these cases had in common is that all of the vehicles had been left at their homes unlocked.

In Peachtree City, most of Sunday morning’s entering auto incidents took place in a large subdivision called The Marks, which has entrances onto Robinson Road and South Peachtree Parkway. A few others took place in the nearby Calgary Place neighborhood off Braelinn Road.
Up in Tyrone, Police Chief Brandon Perkins says most of the eight Sunday morning entering auto incidents took place on Laurel Circle, which connects to Senoia Road next to the old Tyrone Elementary School campus.

“Please keep your homes and your vehicles locked at all times,” Perkins wrote in a recent Facebook post addressed to the community.
