Senoia woman dies in head-on vehicle collision

A Senoia woman died in a head-on vehicle collision in Fayetteville Sunday.

Catherine Siegel, 45, passed away after her black Lincoln Aviator traveling northbound on Hwy. 85 near Royal Ridge Way crossed the center line and struck a gray Chevrolet Silverado. The two drivers were the only ones involved in the accident.

The first units arrived at the scene at 8:36 p.m., where Siegel was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Silverado, a man from Fayetteville, was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Traffic investigators continue to look into the cause of the accident, but drugs and alcohol were not expected to be a factor.
