South Fayette house burns, no injuries

A Fayette County home on Lakeview Drive off Hwy. 92 South near the Spalding County line succumbed to a a fully involved fire Friday evening. No injuries have been reported.

According to Deputy Chief Tom Bartlett with Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services, the call went out just after 7 p.m., and the 3,500 square-foot home was “well involved” when firefighters arrived on the scene. Three tankers, two engines, a ladder truck and other support vehicles descended on the scene where they were joined by another tanker out of Spalding County.

“No cause of the fire has been determined at this time,” Bartlett said. He also noted no one was home at the time of the fire.

Bartlett said the fire inspector was on the scene.
