Starr’s Mill sweeps country track & field championships

IMG_2121aIMG_2025aStarr’s Mill High School was the big winner on Saturday, winning both the girls and boys teams titles on their home track in the Fayette County Championships. The Panthers McIntosh, Fayette County, Whitewater, and Our Lady of Mercy for their dual crowns.
On the girls side, Fayette County finished second, followed by McIntosh, Mercy, and Whitewater. On the boys side, McIntosh finished second, followed by Whitewater, Fayette, and Mercy. Starr’s Mill also won for JV girls, while Whitewater won for JV boys.
Leah Banks of Our Lady of Mercy won the girls 100 meter dash, followed by Asia Green of Fayette and Madison Mueller of Whitewater.
Asian Green won the 200 meter dash, followed by Leah Banks and Lauren Newbold of Fayette.
Lauren Newbold won the 400 meter run, followed by Sonali Anderson of Whitewater and Sydney Mayson of Starr’s Mill.
Alyssa LeClaire of McIntosh won the 800 meter run, followed by Tarna Zander-Velloso of McIntosh and Emily Sims of Starr’s Mill.
Mary Valli of Starr’s Mill won the 1600 meter run, followed by Nicole Zaubi of McIntosh and Tori Nails of Starr’s Mill.
Rachel Ward of McIntosh won the 3200 meter run, followed by Nicole Zaubi and Alexis Smith of Whitewater.
Alexis Farley of Starr’s Mill won the 100 meter hurdles, followed by Jessica Watkins of Fayette and Ashley Evert of Starr’s Mill.
Jessica Watkins won the 300 meter hurdles, followed by Madison Mueller and Alion Belvin of Our Lady of Mercy.
Fayette County’s team of Asia Green, Lauren Newbold, Chinyere Njoku, and Jessica Watkins won the 4×100 meter relay. Mercy’s team of Leah Banks, Deja Barthell, Alion Belvin, and Arianna Blake finished second. Fayette’s team of Imani Hence, Naliha Moore, Lauren Oglesby, and Jordan Starks finished third.
Fayette’s team of Njoku, Watkins, Newbold, and Green won the 4×400 meter relay. Mercy’s team of Banks, Belvin, Pauline Cobb, and Mary-Angel Ekeze finished second. Starr’s Mill’s team of Alexis Farley, Sydney Mayson, Emily Sims, and Nailah Underwood finished third.
McIntosh’s team of Brianna Sattinger, Taylor Snell, Tarna Zander-Velloso, and Alyssa LeClaire won the 4×800 meter relay. Fayette’s team of Cailtin Umila, Cristina Cauthen, Mara Ivey, Darryl Langford, Rachel Williams, and Rachel Gomes finished second. McIntosh’s team of Camille Norman, Alexa Bilsky, Maddie Smith, and Samantha Roberson finished third.
Asia Green won the high jump, followed by Madeline Hammond of Starr’s Mill and Darryl Langford of Fayette.
Jolen Berthold of Starr’s Mill won the pole vault, followed by Starr’s Mill’s Sydney Neilsen and Abigail Dickinson.
Alexis Farley of Starr’s Mill won the long jump, followed by Leah Banks and Nailah Moore.
Alexis Farley won the triple jump, followed by Nailah Moore and Lauren Oglesby.
Shelby Myers of Starr’s Mill won the shot put, followed by Tolu Akintade of Mercy and Shelby Daniel of Starr’s Mill.
Rikkelle Miller of Fayette won the discus throw, followed by Tolu Akintade and Shelby Myers.

Jordan Nedd of Fayette County won the boys 100 meter dash, followed by Nasir Mills of McIntosh and Jervon Kyles of Our Lady of Mercy.
Khadim Jones of McIntosh won the 200 meter dash, followed by Ian McIntyre of Whitewater and Jordan Nedd.
Khadim Jones won the 400 meter run, followed by Jonathon Womack and Lionel Jones of Whitewater.
Lionel Jones won the 800 meter run, followed by Parker Nail of Whitewater and Justin Brown of McIntosh.
Parker Nail won the 1600 meter run, followed by Joshua Warren of Starr’s Mill and Connor Koscevic of McIntosh.
Harry Harp of Whitewater won the 3200 meter run, followed by Thomas Adkins of Whitewater and Nicholas Bryant of Starr’s Mill.
Taylor Brunskole of Starr’s Mill won the 110 meter hurdles, followed by Victor Cross of Our Lady of Mercy and Samuel Stover of Whitewater.
Taylor Brunskole won the 300 meter hurdles, followed by Jalen Ridges of Fayette and Ethan Watson of McIntosh.
Whitewater’s team of Ian McIntyre, Langston Bryant, Jonathon Womack, and Eric Ogle won the 4×100 meter relay. Starr’s Mill’s team of Clayton Bollen, Taylor Brunskole, Coltin Houser, and Marcel Ray finished second. McIntosh’s team of Nasir Mills, JP Caldwell, Leo Tsunematsu, and Khadim Jones finished third.
Whitewater’s team of Womack, Matthew Grant, Lionel Jones, and Bryant won the 4×400 meter relay. Starr’s Mill’s team of Bollen, Brunskole, Cody Clements, and Joshua Warren finished second. McIntosh’s team of Caldwell, Ethan Watson, Justin Brown, and Jones finished third.
McIntosh’s team of Jackson Routon, Nathan Stembridge, Connor Koscevic, and Justin Brown won the 4×800 meter relay. McIntosh’s team of Douglas Wood, Jeff Balco, Sebastian Lopez, John Oliver, and Denver Williams finished second. Whitewater’s team of Thomas Adkins, Mathew Brown, Chance Goode, and Alex Rhodes finished third.
Cody Clements of Starr’s Mill won the high jump, followed by Noel Fuller of Starr’s Mill and James Hawkins of Fayette.
Michael Runyan of Starr’s Mill won the pole vault, followed by Ben Runyan of Starr’s Mill and Canton Faber of Our Lady of Mercy.
Langston Bryant of Whitewater won the long jump, followed by Satchel Goodrich of Starr’s Mill and Nasir Mills of McIntosh.
Anthony Davis of Starr’s Mill won the triple jump, followed by James Hawkins and Brandon McDowell of McIntosh.
Ben Naber of McIntosh won the shot put, followed by Hunter Griffin of Whitewater and Owen Peacock of McIntosh.
Keaton Wimbish of McIntosh won the discus throw, followed by Hunter Griffin and Tyler Munk of Starr’s Mill.
